Diljit Dosanjh‘s most awaited movie Panjab 95 will not be releasing on 7th February due to some reasons. The release date of Panjab 95 movie got delayed:
This movie is based on a true story of Sikh activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who got disappeared in 1995, so the movie got pushed back.
Diljit Dosanjh shared about this delay on his Instagram story.
He said, “We are very sorry and it pains us to inform you that the movie Panjab 95 will not release on 7th Feb due to circumstances beyond our control.”
This movie will be in hindi language, directed by Honey Trehan, produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSPV Movies. This movie is based on the life of sikh activist Jaswant Singh Khalra who was known for uncovering human rights violations during Panjab’s militancy era. But the release date of Panjab 95 movie got delayed.
The film stars are Diljit Dosanjh, Arjun Rampal, Suvinder Vicky.
Previously this movie was proposed to be named as Ghalughara (massacre) but due to objections of censor board this movie was renamed to Panjab 95. There are totally 120 cut scenes in this movie due to objections of censor board. After intervention of SGPC (Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee). This movie was decided to be released uncut with a new title Panjab 95 instead of Ghalughara. Its trailer was also released at youtube. But the trailer was also removed from youtube in india, a day after its release.
In 2023, Panjab 95 movie was scheduled to have it world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival. But it was removed from the line up at the last moment.
